WALTER S.

 

Stefano Bernardelli, alias Walter S, nasce a Mantova nel 1963.
Dall’età di dieci anni, Walter è appassionato di musica black, soul e funk, nella fattispecie di artisti del calibro di Osibisa, Wheater Report e di altri importanti mover.
Già tredicenne, inizia a frequentare i locali culto del momento quali la Baia degli Angeli di Gabicce, il Cosmic di Lazise, Les Cigales di Brescia e non da ultimo il Chicago di Bologna.
Nonostante i suoi genitori desiderassero una maggiore dedizione agli studi, Walter covava il desiderio di applicarsi professionalmente alla sua passione innata: la musica.
Inizia quindi a proporsi come Dj in molti locali emiliani, suscitando da subito l’interesse dei clubber e degli addetti ai lavori.
Nel 1991, la sua crescente notorietà lo porta ad approdare alla consolle del Mazoom di Sirmione e cavalcando l’onda del fenomeno House Music, esprime la sua ricerca scrupolosa di sonorità elettroniche e deep.
Il leitmotiv dei suoi set è coinvolgente e caratterizzato da uno spiccato connubio di eleganti melodie con risonanze d’avanguardia.
Per 17 anni Walter è stato il dj resident de Le Plaisir, l’happening del sabato notte del Mazoom dedicato alla musica House.
Nello stesso periodo, è stato ospite in numerosi club d’Italia, Regno Unito, Germania, Ibiza e di New York.
Al momento Walter è alla ricerca di nuovi stimoli professionali ed è per questo motivo che ha deciso recentemente di lavorare come Dj freelance.
Ha collaborato con la Pride Records di Verona in molti progetti, tra cui la compilation White Trash, frutto dell’omonimo party di successo che ogni anno conclude la stagione estiva del Mazoom.
Walter ha curato la musica di 4 sfilate di moda di Roberto Cavalli.

 

 

Stefano Bernardelli, aka Walter S, was born in Mantova in 1963.
Since he was 10 years old, he’s keen on black, soul and funk music, in this case on artists like Osibisa, Wheater Report and other important movers.
As early as he was thirteen years old, he started patronizing the Italian clubs that were a cult of that period, such as Baia degli Angeli (Cabicce), Cosmic (Lazise), Les Cigales (Brescia) and, last but not least, Chicago (Bologna).
Even though his parents wanted him to be committed to studies, Walter was dying for applying himself to his inborn passion: the music.
Therefore, he started proposing himself as a Dj in several clubs and he immediately aroused both the clubbers and the pundits interests in.
In 1991, his growing renown led him to Mazoom club (Sirmione) and riding on the crest of the wave of House music, Walter set out a meticulous experimentation of deep House and electronic sonority.
The leitmotiv of his dj-set is fascinating and characteristic of a marked mixture of
refined tunes and avant-garde acustic resonances.
On 17 years, Walter has been the resident Dj of Le Plaisir, the Mazoom saturday night happening dedicated to House music.
At the same time, he was guest on several clubs in Italy, UK, Germany, Ibiza
and New York.
At the moment, Walter is looking for new challenges in his professional career,
this is why he has recently decided to work as Dj freelance.
He collaborated on White Trash compilation, a Pride Record’s project and
outcome of the summer closing party of Mazoom club.
